Having the dream of becoming a theatre actor, Eirini was accepted at Peiraikos Syndesmos Drama school just before becoming 18. She has worked for The National Theatre of Northern Greece, Stoa Theatre, Theatre Diadromi, Karezi Theatre to mention a few and has been directed by P. Zivanos, St. Fasoulis, K. Arvanitakis, Th. Papageorgiou, G. Iordanidis, D. Vergados and more.
She's an experienced open air theatre actress having performed in venues such as The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Troy, Butrinti, Bitola and most of the open air theatres in Greece.
As a voice-over artist she has worked in commercials for radio was the female narrator in the radio novel series 'Logos Anaglyfos' for National Radio 5 (5 episodes).
In film she has taken part in several corporate projects and prfessional short films. Her TV credits include 'Family affairs' (1 episode) and 'Above the law' (1 episode).
Eirini initially worked as theatre practitioner in the Summer Programe of the Municipality of Nikaia with children 6-12 years old and continued teaching drama in primary schools in the following years.
She gained her teaching qualification for Secondary Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2009. Two years later she began her training at Porta Theatre Studio in Drama in Education which she completed upon her return from her postgraduate studies in the UK.
In 2014 she completed her MA in Theatre practice: Applied Theatre at the University of Exeter (UK) - her thesis was: 'Keeping the Door Open: To what Extent is the Work of Big Brum Theatre in Education Company meaningful in the exploration of the ‘self’ in children with Asperger Syndrome?'
During her studies she worked/volunteered with the following: Conference on 'Our Food'- supporting the process of the conference with theatre practices and dramatising the main aspects/outcomes. 'The Telephone Box' - sessions with a community of people with history of addiction, ex offenders and health mental issues -divising a play & staging the show. 'Theatre in Prison and Probation'- workshop with offenders in Exeter Prison, Perfectly Mixed Up - MA students of Applied Theatre developing a theatre company with young people in foster care, working The Son-Rise Programme - a home based programme involving one-to-one sessions with people with autism. 'Verbatim' -Adaptation of public digital resources of mental asylum residents.
In 2015-16 she facilitated workshops with female inmates of Korydallos prison.
In 2016 she attended the Son-Rise Program® Start-Up training at the Autism Treatment Center of America® and currently assists parents and their special children on the autistic spectrum on their journey to growth by delivering one-to-one sessions.
Her main interest and field of research remains Drama/Theatre in Education, young people with Autism and disadvantaged communities as she believes that drama -close to real life experience as it is- remains the site where the futile can become hope.
Eirini has been a tutor of German language (teaching qualification by the Ministry of Education).
